X-mas in Utah

Reka and I flew to Utah to visit my family for the holidays. Although we spent most of our time at my parents house we did get the opportunity to ride some of Utahs famous dry powder. Our good friends Chris and Carol picked us up at the airport with their amazingly smart daughter Mikayla. We spent the next few hours eating and drinking and catching up. After dinner we headed to there house and played Tony Hawks Pro Skater until our thumbs were sore.

In the morning, we packed up and headed to Brighton to ride some of that dry, fluffy powder. Although they did not get that much snow over night the few inches were great! It was probably one of Chris' worst snow days of the season but it was awesome if you compare it to the typical wet and heavy snow we get in Washington. Reka and I had a great time at Brighton and hope to be able to return soon.

The rest of the weekend was spent at family christmas parties and seeing family members that I have not seen for a long time. It has been a very good weekend but Reka and I are very glad to be back in Seattle. Even though it has been raining since we got home.

Pulling Plastic

Adam and I were originally going to drive to Frenchman Coulee today but weather has destroyed our plans again. According to the forecast it was snowing there today so I guess it is a good thing we didn't go anyways. Instead we went to Vertical World in Seattle. It was fun and a great work out but it just does not compare to climbing on real rock. Hopefully, before school starts in January, we will be able to plan another day to drive East for some sunny cragging in the Washington desert.
I am a horrible gym climber! I always find it so frustrating cause I can climb harder grades outside than I can at the gym. Gyms make me feel like I suck, well I guess I kind of do but in the mountains I don't care as much. It didn't take long before I got sick of struggling up slippery 5.9s.

2005

I finally finished the trip reports for 2005! Yeah, it took me forever but it's a lot of content. It seemed to rain a lot in 2005 so some of the climbs ended up being attempts as we didn't really feel like spending a cold and wet weekend in the mountains.
I also added one trip report from 2004. The East Ridge of Pinnacle Peak was a fun climb Travis and I did in October before the snow started to fall. We had great views of Mount Saint Helens bursting steam from it's crater. Please enjoy!

The Enchantments

I slowly add new trip reports to my site everyday. I just finished uploading a trip of the upper enchantments that I did back in August of 2005 with my friends Travis and Bill. I also added a short movie. I didn't originally plan on putting movies on the site but maybe that will be a cool feature? Right now I am not sure how it will react for Windows users with IE. Please send me a note so I can figure out the IE bugs and fix it. Thanx.

New site Feature!

Well, it took awhile but I figured out to change blogger templates. :) I decided to add a blog to my site so I can write about trips that are not really worth a full "trip report". This would be stuff like gym climbing, snowboarding at a resort, myabe I will write reviews on climbing equipment or something. I don't really know what I will do with it. I guess you will just have to come back to see!
